Cybertron / Galaxy Force Wolf Fang (Part 2)

http://toyspileup.blogspot.sg/2014/05/hasbro-cybertron-deluxe-class-snarl_13.html

This week continue the review of Wolf Fang in Robot mode

Robot mode:

At first glance, the colors and fine details from the beast mode transfers well onto the robot mode.

To be honest, I am never in favor of transformers robot that had alternate beast mode. One main reason is that the rear leg of the beast always transform to become the legs of the robot. This happens far too often so much so that it becomes boring.

Another potential spoiler is the head of the beast. Too often, the designer do not know what to do with it. In the case of Wolf Fang, the complete head became the right arm which reminds me of Voltron.

Details:

The head is not impressive either. To start off, his face looks like a lion when he is a wolf. He seems to be smiling when he should be fearsome. The milky white base of the head is a bad choice of color as it sinks the details of face. The dark blue and yellow eyes doesn't really go well with the white base color either.

Talking about details and paint apps, Wolf Fang has lots of it. The chest and the torso are pleasing to look at even though I do find the torso a little too long.

A look at the arms again. Notice that the beast's mouth stays open even without the cyber key. How this is done had been explained in the part 1 of the Wolf Fang review.

The typical beast mode feet and the clip to hold the cyber key.

Articulation:

Like in his beast mode, Wolf Fang has good articulation particularly on his lower limbs.

In robot mode, his tail can be transform into a blade (earlier picture) or a rifle.

Overall:

All in all, Wolf Fang is nice in beast mode but not in robot mode. The beast mode sculpt is amazing especially the head. Transformation is typical of a beast to robot as often seen in their line of beast transformers.
